Freedom Week 2011

Freedom Week is an annual, one-week seminar designed to teach students about classical liberalism and free market economics. Organised by the Adam Smith Institute and the Institute of Economic Affairs and hosted at Sidney Sussex College Cambridge the week allowed access to a wealth of academics and other professionals. With 40 student places, York was the best represented University at the event, with five students in attendance.

(Left to Right): Amy Lee, Nathan Wilson, Pete Spence, Phil Downs, Tom Byrne

A great opportunity to listen to some fantastic lectures and discuss liberty, Freedom Week was also a brilliant opportunity to meet other students from around the country from the same end of the political spectrum. Hopefully we will see many of them again at a regional event for freedom lovers in the North at some point in the future!

Joining Freedom Society means we can offer up to a third off your travel costs (and subsidise your event fees for other such conferences).

Hello world!

Freedom Society is a non-partisan libertarian pressure group which campaigns for economic freedom and civil liberties.

We seek to highlight the ideals of individual liberty, and demonstrate their importance & to widen the scope of speakers we invite so that every student, regardless of political affiliation can find a platform to stand upon and argue their case.

Freedom Society takes the view that the fairest society is a free society.
